A beautiful mixed metals necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) Aesthetic Movement era! Crafted in sterling silver, the book chain is comprised of ornately engraved links. The engravings depict lovely leaves and trefoil details, glinting as they catch the light. A large spring ring secures the chain and carries a large?oval?locket. Rose and yellow gold leaves and flowers adorn the surface, blooming out of the 3-dimensional vase. Spherical detail encircles the design, and it opens to reveal two spaces, each marked "II F". The backside of the locket has an ornate maker's mark that reads "17", "22", "B", "E", has an indistinguishable English head hallmark, and centers on "R." The locket's bail is marked with an English lion passant mark. A?lovely example of Victorian artistry, this exceptional locket and book chain duo would make a special addition to any collection! ?
